The aim of the studio, which I (Royal
Ghost) founded in 2001 year, was creation
of a short noncommercial animation film
with code name “V.V.”. In
the name of the studio is used the name
of a virtual female character Veda -
the main heroine of this short film.
Aim
and lead time
It’s
difficult thing to create a short
film of high quality. If we take into
account that the film is created in
our free time it’s quite understandable
that the work can be stretched out
on a few years. Creating our film
we are trying to reach the level of
such a cool cinematics from games
as: WarCraft 3, Resident Evil, Warhammer
40000. We like our work and get pleasure
doing it. ;)

Before “Veda
project” I had headed demogroup
“DDt Ent.”, which I set
up in 1995. There were six members
in the group: two artists (include
myself), two musicians and two coders.
For five years the group succeeded
in Russian demoscene. The most important
for us was mega-demo “The
Chase”, which has been most
considerable project ever released
on Russian demoscene. In 2001 it was
transformed in a short animation film
“The Chase” which is now
presented on our site.
My basic work as CG artist in studio
is creation and development of character Veda and creation 90% of animation.

Gamlet’s
Mother Shadow (GMS) : CG Artist
“Comrade
Spook! How goes estimation of my works?
Maybe it is worth to send you some
other my works?” And without
a reply the author (GMS) sent me them
;). The letters of this kind I received
in reply on my want ad, which I placed
in some Russian forums. There were
more-than 70 applicants awaiting to
participate in the project, but only
in letters and enormous amounts of
works of GMS one could feel enthusiasm.
It was main reason, why he was accepted
in studio. And what’s especially
pleasant his enthusiasm doesn’t
die down through the years of teamwork.
GMS has been working on broad variety
of models,
which includes: weapons, vehicles,
buildings and so on.

Briz
: CG Artist
Complicated
tricks in our short animation film
Veda performs on motorcycle. We needed
a specialist who could explain us
details of engine and motorcycle driving.
Unlike cars where engine is invisible
motorcycle is much more difficult
in 3D modeling. While creating animation
of motorcycle I need to know how correctly
to use transmissions and other special
things. Briz not only knows all these
details but excellently drives his
own motorcycle. Motorcycle for Veda at which Briz has been working
already makes good impression and
undoubtedly will speed up our work
over the film.
Also Briz plans together with me to
create motorcycle ammunition (helm,
back defense…) for Veda.
